Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was Kasey's birthday. . . 28! Man o man he's getting old :) Kasey is the type that doesn't like a big fuss, in fact he doesn't want any presents or a big deal made at all. But I am the boss so he gets presents and at least a dinner of his choice :) Kasey's parents came over and we had a fun evening of just hanging out and keeping it low key. The boys loved helping unwrap daddy's presents and helping to blow out the candles. Actually Mason was to scared to help blow out the candles but once he saw Dad and Griff do it, we had to light a few more for Mase to blow out!

here's the best family shot we could get

Dax was a little nervous when the boys started ripping the paper off,
but was happy to hold and suck on the card!

here's the boys posing with dad's new TV
I hope you had a happy birthday hun and just wanted you to know we love you!

Accessories

As I was looking through my camera today I got a good laugh from Griffin and all his many accessories! Who new? He is such a funny little guy and loves shoes and hats! He keeps me smiling and we sure do love him!
Here he is in his new cow rain boots . . . thanks grandma :)
The best accessory of all . . . the blankie, which by the way he has three of these that are exactly the same, but will only use the one that has "the side" (you know, the rough worn out corner that gets rubbed all night long!)

Not really an accessory, but who could resist this? Griff had to soak his foot in an Epsom salt and water bath for awhile to help with an infected toenail . . . and Mase just thought it looked fun!

He is for sure going to kill me when he gets older for this one! About two weeks ago Griff decided he wanted to start wearing underwear and he had pretty much potty trained himself! It's been so nice and so unexpected, but definitely welcome!

And here he is in the "farmer hat" that is about two sizes too small!

And last but not least Griff loves to put on my shoes and walk around the house. I found the black heals especially fitting :)

Bringing in the New Year . . . well sorta

So this new years I had big plans of making memories with the boys and not everything went exactly as planned (welcome to my life!) Anyway, one thing I wanted to do was let them smash their gingerbread houses, but we didn't get to it that night. So I saved it for a boring day and they had a blast! They were quite surprised when I got out the hammers and told them to start smashing! I think that this will be something we do every year . . . the smiles on their faces while destroying was just priceless!

Getting Organized

I will admit that I am not the most organized person in the world, but since having kids (and all the clutter that comes with them) I am needing to become better at this! So this year I am going to try to work on one section of the house at a time and get organized! Right now I am working on the laundry/mud room and am quite pleased with the progress . . .
The top shelf used to be a mish mash of gloves, hats, ect. Now each boy has a bin with their initial on it and it is so much easier just to pull down whoevers bin I need and not have to go searching for a missing glove! Also each family member has a rack for their shoes which is great so Griff knows that his shoes are all on the bottom rack. I've found that being more organized has been a real time saver and I'm excited to keep on going!

We have also started a chore chart for the boys. It has been really good so far and seems to help make chores a little bit more fun! Don't worry I'm only giving them a few simple things to do each day and then every two weeks they have a pay day (on daddy's pay day) where they earn a dollar if they've done their chores nicely over the past two weeks. Then they can choose what they want to do with their money (Mason already has big plans for the dollar store!)

Long Overdue

I know this post is long overdue but I couldn't skip right over Christmas!

This year we changed things up a bit and spent Christmas eve in Logan with my family at my parents house. It was a fun night and of course the boys were so excited to get to play with their cousin Ty. We just spent the afternoon eating, chatting, playing, opening a few gifts, oh and eating some more! I think this was the first year since we were married that we were with my family for Christmas eve! My mom and dad got the boys some cowboy getup! It was pretty cute . . . at first Griffin was the only one that would even try his on but soon enough the big boys gave in and they were all galloping around the house in their leather chaps and light up cowboy hats saying YEE HAW!

Christmas was such a great day. Great but hectic (isn't it always??) Mason woke up first at his usual time (7 o clock) and we let him look over his Santa stuff that was not wrapped until Griff woke up. Mase was so excited about his slippers and couldn't believe that Santa actually ate his cookies and milk! Once Griff woke up we spent the rest of the morning opening up presents, and boy did they get spoiled! Kasey's parents came over Christmas morning and we enjoyed their company as well as some yummy cinnamon rolls. Later that day we visited both of Kasey's grandparents and had 2 huge, delicious meals. While we were at Bob and Cheryl's it started snowing and didn't stop. Perfect for Christmas! Pictures are to come . . . my computer is giving me fits!

Such concentration!

Happy as can be with his new sippie!

Griff with his new blankie . . . didn't santa do a good job??

Nasty Nasty Virus

Thanks to a nasty virus that we recently got on the computer, I have been going through withdrawals. I guess I didn't realize how many things I use the computer for until it wasn't available any more! Any way, I have lots of things to post about . . . coming SOON very soon!
