Our Weekend

On Friday night we went to Kasey's cousins wedding. They had it in their backyard (can you say stressful??) and pretty much did it all! It was really nice and the boys had a blast! Griffin spent pretty much the entire night watching everyone dance. He was mesmerized and at the end started busting out a few of his own moves. He was pretty much the entertainment!

The family shot (our only one with mase in it for some reason)

My little cheeser!

Look, no hands and so proud!

The candy thief :)

On Saturday night we took the boys to watch the trains. There is the perfect spot up the canyon that Kasey used to go to when he was little. The trains go over the bridge about every 15 minutes, and you can go under the bridge and fish or throw rocks! At first the boys wanted to go inside the Tahoe every time a train went by because it was so loud. But after a few times, they were getting more used to it and would stay outside. The sad part was that they thought they were camping . . . ( which is why we are taking them for the first time this weekend . . . so they can see what it really is :) They had so much fun and did not want to leave (hopefully its the same this weekend!)

I took a ton of pictures and couldn't decide, so there are a ton!

taking it all in!

I love this one of all my boys!

Dax had to have my water bottle, even if the sun was in his eyes while drinking it!

Walking up the little hill to the car

Dax was soaked from the knees down by the time we were done. He probably would have jumped right in the river if we would have let him!

Throwing rocks

I tried to get a good shot of the three of them . . . this is what we got!

B is for . . .

BANANAS
I'm trying to come up with a snack for each letter since we usually start at snack time.

Banana Bread . . . mmm . . . so much better than plain old bananas!

Ball toss . . . we found balls and bins of all different sizes and had a ball toss competition! It's amazing how much they love structured play and how cheap and easy it can be to do something fun!

A Conversation . . .

This might give you a good laugh . . . at least it did for me!

Me: (As I'm unloading the dishwasher) "Mase, did dad run the dishwasher last night?"

Mase : "I dunno, why?":

Me: "I can't tell if it's clean or dirty . . ."

Mase : "hmm . . . that dorky old man!"

ABC Summer

Last summer I saw on a friends blog that they did an ABC summer and I thought it was a great idea to help keep the kids occupied and hopefully still learning something throughout the summer. So, I decided to give it a try. She has some great ideas so I've copied a few of hers and come up with a few on my own. I decided we would do a new letter each Tuesday and Thursday, and then do story time at the library and the park on Wednesdays. Tuesday was our first day of our ABC Summer and so we started with the obvious . . . A! We first had Ants on a log (raisins on string cheese) for a snack.

Then we did the ABC's and practiced writing the letter A. Then we did Alphabet Sand (just fill a plate with sand of choice . . . sugar at our house) and let the kids practice drawing letters (and shapes for Griff) in the sand.

We finished up with lunch at Arctic Circle. The boys loved it and have been asking ever since when we get to do the next letter!
I'm going to try and post as many letters as possible throughout the summer so I can remember for next year . . . just a warning :)
