When I told Griff that he could color with markers as long as he didn't color on the couch or the walls . . . I guess I should have included his skin as well :) I went to put Dax down for a nap and not 2 minutes later Griff came wondering in with marker on just about every spot he could find on himself! I had to try hard not to laugh because he had such an innocent little look on his face . . . we're learning that he is quite a good actor!

EVENING IN THE CANYON
Last night we decided to head up Ogden canyon for some hot dogs over the campfire and a little exploring. The boys were so excited. We haven't been camping since Mason was one or two. Sad. I know. But that is what happens when you are either pregnant or have a newborn every other summer since! Anyway we figured since summer is almost over we should at least take them up the canyon for the evening . . . and that we did! The excitement began on the drive up when we got into the canyon and Griffin was quite worried about the "dark". Mason being the good big brother that he is was reassuring little Griff that we were just in the shade and it wasn't dark. When we finally found our destination ( a little campground off the side of the road . . .) the boys were in heaven. They loved just being outside, having a fire, cooking our hot dogs, playing with sticks, throwing rocks in the river, and just being boys. Even though we were only there a few hours it was a lot of fun and we hope to make an overnight trip next summer!
Me and my boys

Dax was so good (as usual) I think he really liked being outdoors!

What would we do without daddy???

Preschool
Today was Mason's first day of preschool! He has been waiting for this day for quite some time and has been sooo excited! He will be going twice a week for 2 hours and has a few friends in his class. . . one is a cutie named Brinley who he told me today that he loved ;) The only downfall is that it is during his nap time . . . so he's a bit tired, but I think once he gets used to it he'll be fine. When I dropped him off he was running to the door with not so much as a BYE MOM! He has sure changed from my little guy that would never leave my side!
Here's my little dude all ready to go!
cheesin' it in the car
sitting on the steps (next to Brinley of course) waiting for the rest of his classmates!

WeEk iN ReViEw . . .
This week has been a pretty normal one . . . Griff helped out with the laundry (I was trying to keep his mind off of the fact that Mason was not home) he loves to put the wet clothes into the dryer and pour the soap into the washer. I guess i don't really think to have him help me a lot, but when I do he is sooo excited! (I'll have to remember that!)

Daxon is now four months and trying to roll over! He is getting pretty close, but hasn't quite mastered it yet!
We made "frosting cookies" (sugar cookies) and the boys of course love to lick the beaters. Griff was itchin for one the entire time and when he finally got his, he had a big smile and kept saying "happy" over and over! I think they like eating the dough more than making the cookies . . . who doesn't?

The week ended with me and Dax heading up to Logan for the weekend. My sister JULIE ran the 1/2 marathon on saturday morning. I am so amazed . . . she has a 6 month old baby and still finds the time and energy to train! It was a lot of fun to watch her cross the finish line! (Of course I forgot my camera!) Later that afternoon the girls (Me, my mom, 2 sisters & sis -in -law) headed out to go shopping for Julie's birthday. It was a great time as usual and I can't wait to do it again!

SICK KIDS . . .
I really hate it when my kids are sick. For two reasons . . . 1 - well, they are sick! And I feel so bad that they don't understand why they feel so crappy, and why mom can't make it better. 2 My house becomes a complete disaster and I feel like a zombie :( So long story short, Mase and Griff have hand, foot and mouth (a crummy virus that gives them sores in their mouths and little blister looking bumps on their hands and feet). This is the first time since Daxon was born that they have been sick together, at the same time . . . and let me tell ya it sucks! ( Can you tell I've had a long day???) It has pretty much involved screaming, crying kids that have sore mouths and are starving because EVERYTHING hurts to eat! OK I might be being a little dramatic, but as I look back on the day . . . not much! Anyway, I really hope my little buddies get feeling better soon . . . for their sake as well as my sanity:)

Griffin is 2!!!
Yesterday was Griffins 2nd birthday! He is getting so big . . . and is definitely starting the terrible two's! Not that he is terrible, but I HAVE noticed a change in his little personality over the past few weeks. He used to be my easy going, go with the flow little guy. Not any more! He can throw a tantrum with the best of em' and can be quite demanding, but still oh so sweet! Lately Griff loves buses, trucks, tractors, trailers, and anything that hooks together. He walks around the house saying "hook" over and over again until you help him hook together whatever it is that he is playing with. He must have his blankie and binkie at all times, or at least know where they are. He loves apple juice! He drinks the stuff like it's going out of style. He also loves top ramen and treats! He has recently developed a fear of bugs, which can be fun when you live out in mosquito country :) (Notice the 4 mosquito bites on his forehead) I think most of all he loves his brothers!
