I have been so busy working on my other blog that I have totally neglected this one! This is my family journal … so I really don’t want to leave any pictures out. So basically it’s going to be one super long picture post of all the Dahl family happenings in July!
This year for the fourth we were in Las Vegas visiting my brother, sil and their cutie pie Easton. My parents rented a house and we had the whole dam fam together. It was a lot of fun and a great way to spend the fourth!
The car ride was the longest one to date that we have attempted with the whole family, and I have to admit I was a bit nervous, but everyone was so excited to go and did great. We rented a mini van for the drive and that added to the fun factor for the kids. They thought it was awesome … and it kind of was. But no worries, we won’t be buying one any time soon!!!
Everything is better with a blanket in your mouth if your name is Daxon!
Once we got there the kids immediately wanted to jump in the pool. I was worried that even with the water it was going to be too hot to bear during the heat of the day, but it was actually just perfect! We all pretty much lived in the pool and the kids became quite the water bugs!
On the fourth we drove out to Hoover Dam. I had seen pictures, and heard about it, but never been there before. It was quite impressive and everyone had a good time!
The night of the fourth we went to an outdoor concert and fireworks show … um, I’m not sure exactly where it was but about 10 minutes away from where we were staying. It was a HUGE event and we were lucky enough to get a spot right in the front section of the field by the band. The kids thought it was pretty awesome and it was even better when my sister Julie and her kids arrived seconds before the fireworks went off. They came a couple days after the rest of us, had been driving all day and made it by the skin of their teeth!
For the most part we spent the rest of the trip by the pool, hanging out with everyone! After a couple days of being there we were all contemplating moving to Vegas!
The guys (ok, not all the guys but Kasey and Ryan) decided it would be a good idea to jump into the pool from the balcony. I got my rush just by watching. Jeesh you would think I was a Mom or something! I thought it was funny that the kids were sure to tell on their Dad/Uncle to Grandma as soon as she walked in
We got to celebrate little Easton’s first birthday and Ty’s seventh in a combined baseball themed party. We all combined forces to make some awesome cakes and do a little decorating.
… and I guess Mason was feeling left out so he had to go and loose a tooth during the party! Gpa then informed him he was lucky to have lost a tooth in Vegas because the Vegas tooth fairy is rich! Thanks Dad!
I caught these two napping together. It’s just about enough to melt a momma’s heart!
We went and checked out the mermaid show at Cabela’s one day. I think the boys liked all the animals on the walls in Cabela’s more than the mermaid show, but it was a fun thing to do and nice to get out of the pool for a few hours!
And then it was back in the pool! Little Miss is fearless when it comes to water. She loved being in the pool and is for sure my little fish out of the four kids!
We also went and spent and evening at Krista and Bobby’s in July. The kids love going there and playing Bobby’s drums. I think Dax loves them most of all. He would sit and play them for hours!
And of coarse Navi just wanted to pet and torment the kitty the entire time!
I had to include this picture of Navi … I was out pulling weeds one morning and she decided to get herself a chair and an American Doll magazine was perfectly content to sit and read while I worked. I just love that little girl!
So, this was our July in a nutshell. Hopefully I will get to August sooner than later!
